Rugby Finals supporting on Friday; according to the excel class the chiang forwarded, containing the match support allocations of the classes, 48 out of 92 classes given allocations are going to support rugby on Friday.

Whoa.

On another note, I Laugh At RECAS' newsletter. I didn't really like it to start with, because my first impression was terrible - like WUTW, it uses a header image, except that at least WUTW's is flickr and thus easily identifiable as an image, rather than http://luhkjq.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pmMyrEaQCwbcs0Sx2jBmVsl7a578_iz3OFnFKl9SEqCX8MnKyNiK2XqBE5fWe2-WAvbpU3L5_Cy0LOkBGIu7CAg/Under-the-MacroScope-Header.jpg

DUDE, I only saw the first few words and it looks like one of them Dubious Sites whose Mail You Should Delete Immediately Without Opening. Which is what I did, delete it. Clicked "Report Spam", to be precise, until I realized, a little belatedly, that it said T1W7 which meant that it might have been from school.

Another thing is that they, I realize, prepare it a little in advance, but don't check it before they send it, as in, run through it again right before they hit SEND. I got my latest 'issue', T2W9, at 22:40 - they might have sent it earlier, and it taken some time to get here, but I doubt it - this is an article they thing I should read:

(P3) Sri Lanka v.s. the Tamil tigers – it’s almost full time

The bloody civil war, the longest modern war in Asia, between Sri Lanka and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam is almost at an end. Both parties have been guilty of horrific crimes, with civilian death tolls in recent months numbering in thousands. Just a few days ago, the Sri Lanka government showed a remarkable lack of restraint, shelling the last civilian hospital in a “no-fire” zone, killing 47 and wounding more than 50 (you can read more about that story here). The war might be ending soon, but the violence will likely carry on.

Except yours truly was reading Reuters' Oddly Enough, before that, and happened to skim some artciles from other sections including this one, a short on the Tigers' surrender, published at about 5:51 EDT, which works out to 17 51 +0800 GMT (i.e, 5.51 pm SG time).

Point here is, by the time they sent out their informative newsletter on how the war might be drawing to a close, the end in sight and all that, it already was over. NUBS.

More recently, just under 20 minutes after RECAS sent their journal, Reuters gives me a better article, which in the 20 minutes it has been up, has made it to the Most Popular list, which is the reason I saw it in the first place.

Alright, it's just that they didn't want to go to all the hassle of checking up all their shit, I guess. The articles are still decently interesting, I guess.

I just have a lower opinion of what they consider to be "staying on top of world news and international policy"

Much lower. haha.

SOME LGBT THING HAPPENED AND I WASN'T THERE.

And in case people haven't realized,

YES, I SUPPORT LGBT RIGHTS.

haha I was just thinking, the issue here is mostly the gender thing, because many view it to be morally wrong (there was this recent article which claimed it would damage the social fabric because kids will grow up with a distorted image of a family - would having two loving fathers be considered to be better or worse than having a violent, vulgar father/mother/both, I wonder?). So, if I go for a sex-change op (is that illegal here?), would I be considered to have changed my gender? If I married a male, would I then be considered a transsexual homosexual (since I'm now a man), or just a straight woman who wants to be a man?

Well, there are people out there who'd just call hypothetical-me a freak, I guess.

:D

I'm going with transsexual homosexual. I think it's the same either way anyway ;D

Right, if anyone has issues and would like to hurl them at me- you can always post on my screened comments post.
These can include OMG I CAN'T BE FRIENDS WITH SOMEONE IN FAVOUR OF LGBT EQUALITY! or ME TOO I SUPPORT BUT EH I'D RATHER THE WHOLE WORLD DON'T KNOW or some shizz whatever la.

GOING TO SLEEP HEH.

Ahh, RECAS.

Their reputation among my circle is virtually zero, I"m afraid >F

I hear terrible things about their non-meetings and other facets of the running-down of their CCA.

Have previous issues of the newsletter really been that terrible? I thought only the last one was crap-ass because of their J1 muckup.

I've not seen previous issues of RECAS's newsletter, really! What affected my perception of them were the anecdotes I got from their members when I asked, "So, guys - what does RECAS do?"

I'm actually a member of this hideousness that is RECAS, and we really do nothing there. We wait 1 hour for people to actually start anything - and I wonder why I do not quit. In vain, I, a non-exco member, wrote those newsletters, (alone, as all other members had "other commitments") only to find out they sucked as well. Even so, they're the only thing this club has going. At least I tried... it's not easy for one guy to check 20 links every second of the day. "you lot" could always unsubscribe - the entire thing is just a pretence... for my coordinator, who is the de jure leader of the CCA, also cannot handle your email addresses, yet sponsored the idea. Adding to all my misery is my stOOOpid teacher who also happens to be my useless and hateful Economics tutor - NOW we've got a merry (yet stagnant) cesspool! Oh btw, Nicole, my friend referred me to this blog even though he knew it might hurt me a bit. But who cares? I'm leaving them bitches soon. Oh the JOY!

Oh btw, the last issue which Nicole has helpfully placed here was not my work. It was a J1's. Just wanted to clarify. And supposedly, he meant it as a joke, but my lovely designer sent it to everyone without asking me. EPIC FAIL.
